Dirty Looks is thrilled to return to Machine Project’s Mystery Theater for a second year of Sesión Continua: a porn theatre in Echo Park. Sesion Continua recreates the open sex/sociality of gay porn theaters of yesteryear, putting a spin on that tried and true skinema model to bring you a queer porn palace of our moving image fantasies. This year’s porn pile-up will feature the Los Angeles premiere of Dennis Cooper and Zac Farley’s feature-filmmaking debut, Like Cattle Towards Glow. In a 24-hour cinema-mixtape, Dirty Looks will showcase works of queer erotica in “sesión continua”-style: no schedules, no set attendance times. Slip in and out or stay a while to witness a bygone approach towards explicit cinema that blended avant-garde film forms with another industry’s titillating requirements.
We will be screening from midnight on Friday, March 25 to midnight Saturday 26. 24 hours of contemporary queer porn, vintage classics and some experimental gems that promiscuously alternate on the movie screen.
Join us for this very special Dirty Looks screening. Come early, come late, come and leave or come and stay.
“Need we say X???”
$12 "come-n-go" admission for the whole program.
Featuring original signage by Robbie Acklen.
Dennis Cooper and Zac Farley’s Like Cattle Towards Glow is a 93 minute film consisting of five independent, thematically and emotionally interconnected scenes. The film is a complex, intimate, strangely serene, wide-ranging, and always challenging exploration of sexual desire as a hiding place. In these unique, stylistically and temperamentally diverse scenes, each one featuring its own set of characters and storyline, sex makes a promise of something so intense and untenable to the characters that they feel they must enter it in secret — through an act of violence, or under the guise of an unrelated transaction, or by rationalizing its dangers away with the help of politics, or through utilizing it remotely as material for a purely aesthetic project. Like these characters, and like sex itself, LCTG is as deep, knowing, and unknowable as it is raucous, original, and explicit on the surface.
