Wendy Yao grew up in Los Angeles and founded Ooga Booga, a small shop specializing in artist books, music, design, publishing and independent culture since 2004. She was also a co-founder of 356 Mission with Laura Owens, where for 5 years, she had a second storefront and organized events and exhibitions. Her Chinatown storefront recently closed after 15 years in business, but the shop lives on through satellite projects and online as a webshop.
