On Wednesday September 28, Abrons Arts Center will host a screening of rarely seen films and filmed-performances by queer artist Jack Smith. Ranging from the late 1960s to the late 1970s, the featured films present a glimpse into significant period of Smith’s career in which his work began to turn from photography and film towards live performance. This screening is being held in conjunction with the exhibition Reexamine the space, on view in the Abrons Arts Center main galleries September 26 – October 23, 2016. Admission is free and open to the public. No reservations required. Seating is first come first served.
